“For a guy like me, with five or six generations from the same town in America, to leave America, things gotta be not so good with America”
- Mos Def
Is living abroad the answer, or am I asking the wrong questions?
If I’ve never left my hometown, can I really make it happen?
(Spoiler: It might be both, and yes, you absolutely can.)
Join us for a 90 min masterclass about the practical and spiritual elements around leaving America behind - whether you're a seasoned traveler or you've never set foot outside your hometown. We’ll break down:
In 60 minutes, we'll collectively break down:
Why that passport might be your ticket to freedom (and how to get one if you don't have it yet)
If Being Black abroad is really better than being Black here
How to tell if you're seeking growth or just a change of scenery
The reality of trading one set of problems for a whole new one
How to build a life abroad that's more than just an Instagram feed
Plus, we'll tackle the questions you don’t want to say out loud:
I've never left my city. Am I crazy for thinking about moving abroad?"
Can I really afford to leave, or will I be eating ramen in Paris?
What happens when the novelty wears off and I’m just me, but in Portugal?
This is not your typical "live, laugh, love" seminar. We're here to get real about what it means to leave the land of the free when you've never felt all that free to begin with - from concrete jungles to actual jungles, from your mama's kitchen to street food in Bangkok - we've got the roadmap for every stage of your journey.
Remember, whether you stay or go, you're making a choice. Let's make sure it's an informed one - no matter where you're starting from.
