Through guided tours of museums and cultural landmarks, you'll trace the footsteps of your ancestors, reclaiming a connection to your roots that transcends time and distance. Let Salvador, Bahia be your gateway to a profound exploration of identity, history, and the boundless richness of the African diaspora.

This transformational 10-day and 9-night journey through historical regions of Bahia, Brazil teaches a deeper intellectual understanding of the mission and purpose of the Cooper Woodson College Educational Equity Program of California State University, Sacramento. Students will be introduced to teachings on Pan-African philosophers, intellectuals and the social political movements that speak to the trajectory of the African educational experience in America. More than just a course, this is meant to be an exploration of the sacred as well as an academic research experience.

The Program: Combining signature RTK methods of transformation and ritual with experiential visits to historic sites and educational research elements, the program is a well-rounded curriculum for physical, emotional, intellectual and philosophical exploration.
