black self-love is a revolutionary act

The most important relationship you will ever have in this lifetime is with yourself.

Join us this black history month, under the Virgo full moon, to share in a somatic practice to increase your tenderness, love, and care for yourself and your body.

All trauma is stored in the body, and in order to reach for more aliveness and love - individually and collectively - we must work with the body.

The body is where we store all of our trauma from this lifetime and others.

The body is the site of our ancestral trauma, and the wounds of white body supremacy that rob us of our embodied dignity and self regard.

Under the influences of white body supremacy, we learn to disassociate from our bodies and treat our bodies as resources to be extracted from instead of exquisite gardens to be tended to.

When we reconnect to our erotic energy, when we remember the erotic - as ancestor Audre Lorde has taught us to do - we remember the seat of our deepest aliveness. We remember our capacity for joy and pleasure - and we connect with each other from this place.

In an unprecedented time of being able to witness the pain and suffering of Black bodies, and colonized bodies, the world over - in Sudan, in the Congo, in the Americas, in Gaza - it is so important to come together to root ourselves in community and in our own deep capacity for joy, pleasure and aliveness.

It is from this place that we can create a new world.

Join us for an hour-long practice led by Tumi Moloto (they/them), an ancestral lineage healing practitioner, somatic sex and relationship coach, and hermetic magician.

Tumi’s areas of genius include working with the body to awaken our erotic energy so that we can build the capacity for experiencing pleasure, living creatively, and engaging in the culture and world-building work that we are dreaming of.

In this hour, we will:

• open ritual space and invoke the well and wise ancestors to be with us strongly

• ground in an erotic practice to connect to your body and your pleasure through breathing and touch

• rest and allow ourselves to unfurl, becoming aware of what has been dormant and unexpressed in the body

• close with a prayer that this medicine may be experienced by the whole of humanity

The focus of this practice is for you to RECEIVE. Come as you are, come comfortable, bring incense, a candle, or any spiritual supplies that allow you to feel grounded and centred, and share in communal spiritual practice with us under this full moon.

Honoring the Exchange of Energy and MA'AT, This is a free community offering.

We’re using a “pay it forward” approach.

If you join us for this hour of community practice and receive this gift from us, consider how you can circulate the wealth you receive as a way to keep the generosity circulating.

This could be:

- Sending money to Gaza, Sudan or Congo relief funds.

- Spreading the word about somatics to your friends and family, and maybe guiding them through these practices.

- If you’re an artist or healer, continuing to do the work you are already doing!

- Or finding some other way to be generous with the world that speaks to you.

-

We want to continue circulating this healing energy and trust that as you receive, so too will you give.

We cannot fully create effective movements for social change if individuals struggling for that change are not also self-actualized or working towards that end. When wounded individuals come together in groups to make change our collective struggle it is often undermined by all that has not been dealt with emotionally

ABOUT Tumi Moloto

Tumi (they/she) is a somatic sex and relationship coach and hermetic magickian. As someone who is initiated in the Ngoma tradition of South Africa, they root all of their work in a framework of ancestral lineage healing - knowing that the ancestors sing when we commit to healing our relationship with our bodies and our sexuality.

Through their coaching practice, they focus on transforming the most taboo and unspoken aspects of our lives (namely, sex, money, and having a body) so that we can all live more fully expressed human lives. They love connecting the magickal and the mundane, and helping people to connect with God and the great mystery in all things. They bring an openness and playfulness to their work, while rooting themselves in an understanding of history and how trauma impacts the human body - with a particular focus on supporting human beings who experience (or whose ancestors have experienced) the adverse affects of white body supremacy, colonization and enslavement, patriarchy and all systems rooted in dominator consciousness. Their deepest desire is to support all bodies to return to states of playfulness and pleasure, finding the deep unshakeable core of power that lives within us all.
