ANCESTRAL Veneraton & HEALING
Honor, Heal & Elevate: A Sacred Gathering
An All Hallows’ Eve Ancestral Rite for our Community
HONORING AND ELEVATING OUR ANCESTORS
FRIDAY, OCT 31 | 5 pm PDT | 8 pm EDT | 12 am gmt
As long as we remember those who have passed away, as long as we tell their stories, sing their songs, tell their jokes, cook their favorite meals, THEN they are with us, around us, and in our hearts. The moment we forget them…then they are truly gone.
- Jorge R. Gutierrez
HEN THE VEIL THINS:
THE ANCESTRAL PORTAL opens
All Hallow’s Eve is a night when the barrier between worlds loosens — a night when the portals to the ancestral realm open, and the living can commune with those who walked before us. This rite is an invitation to return to spiritual order by remembering, feeding, and properly positioning the dead — both those who are well-seated and those who linger.
This gathering centers African Traditional spiritual understanding that the dead are not gone — they are only unseen, and their peace or unrest shapes the living.
Just like us, our ancestors can get STUCK. Stuck in the pain of what they didn’t do, how they were wronged, what will happen to those they left behind.
And occasionally, we, those left behind, can get caught up in the generational trauma of our ancestors. Or sometimes simply in our grief.
Instead of “Trick or Treating” on Halloween, we invite you to join us on All Hallow’s Eve Friday, October 31, with Brother Khepera-Heru through ritual and prayer to assist those ancestors who need us to help them cross over. To elevate. And to call on those Ancestral Helping Spirits to assist us on our paths.
During this ceremony, you will have the chance to write a message to your ancestor, one that will be released during Bahia’s Egungun festival on Nov. 1.
Why Ancestral Healing?
According to ancient wisdom traditions, our ancestors can serve as powerful guides and helpers on our spiritual path. When we acknowledge and honor our good, true ancestral spirits with clear intent, we open channels for healing, wisdom, and spiritual growth. This work not only benefits us but can help elevate entire ancestral lines.
During This Sacred Gathering, We Will:
Open sacred space through traditional prayers and invocations
Practice grounding meditation to connect with ancestral lands
Lift of those in our community who have made their transition since our last gathering in 2024
Offering of Libations
Journey to meet and receive gifts from ancestral helping spirits
Invoking the rainbow bridge for elevating stuck ancestors
Be provided guidance on how to prepare ourselves, our homes, and our Altars for All Souls and All Saints Day
Write requests to be laid on the altar of the Baba Egungun
THEN, ON SAT, NOV 1:
